Alex Jones scolds The One Show cameraman as he distracts BBC host: ‘Not that type!’

Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas were back on The One Show on Tuesday to discuss the heatwave currently gripping the UK as well as chat with guests Chris O’Dowd and Anna Maxwell Martin about their new play. There were also a number of informative segments for the pair to give BBC viewers, from plastics in clothing to the current work underway on the HS2 train line. However, when Alex tried to tee up the HS2 segment, she became distracted by one of the crew.

After Jermaine and Alex heard from Chris and Anna about how they’re combatting the heatwave, the former went on: “Also on the show tonight,

“Lucy Siegle is investigating another problem with plastics and specifically the surprising amount of plastic in our clothes.”

“Yeah, everyone is now checking their labels,” Alex weighed in. “Polyester not my friend in this heat.”

The One Show then turned her attention to the upcoming HS2 segment as she continued: “Plus, Kevin Duala is burrowing under the M25 with a massive boring machine.”

She added: “(It’s) slowly creating the controversial HS2 train lines.”

However, instead of moving on with the show, Alex became distracted by a sniggering cameraman.

And The One Show host wasn’t going to let it slide as she collared her coworker live on air.

“Not that type of boring Phil on camera three,” she exclaimed. “Boring, down, into the ground!”

“And they’re probably oblivious to the fact that there is something momentous happening just 10 metres below the road surface.”

As the camera cut to inside construction, Kevin explained: “Underneath the ground, a huge tunnel has been dug.

“It’s the first of several being built for HS2, the controversial high-speed train line will get you from London to Birmingham in just 49 minutes with plans to expand further north to Manchester and Leeds.”

Kevin then put on his hard hat and explored the construction going on for the multi-billion-pound project.
