Borderlands 3 DLC – Guns, Love, and Tentacles has a release date set for March 26 across all platforms. The game’s next Campaign Add-on will be available to play through the Borderlands 3 Season Pass and Super Deluxe Edition, which are both available to buy now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. And Gearbox has provided further news on what fans can expect after the new campaign content goes live this week.
The official Borderlands 3 DLC – Guns, Love, and Tentacles – launch date is set for March 26, although it’s unclear what time it will be available to download.
Recent reports suggest this might not happen until the afternoon in the UK, but there has yet to be official confirmation on the subject.
Commenting on the setting for the new DLC, a Gearbox description adds: “Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs are finally tying the knot, and they want you to come celebrate on the ice planet of Xylourgos, where a gargantuan monster lies frozen above a village full of deranged occultists.
“You’ll have to fight back the forces of otherworldly evil if Wainwright and Hammerlock are to have their happily ever after.
“Luckily, the most badass wedding planner in the galaxy has your back: Gaige, a former Vault Hunter who’s inseparable from her robot BFF Deathtrap.
“Reunite with old friends and team up with some eerie new characters to help true love triumph over eldritch horror;
“Confront bloodthirsty enemies and formidable bosses, including alien beasts, hideously mutated occultists, and a clan of cold-blooded bandits;
“Few willingly choose to live on this harsh, windswept ice world, and those that do must deal with mutated rock slugs, ferocious wolven, and other terrifying creatures with teeth and tentacles aplenty.
“Scarier still is the otherworldly horror that once lived here, its colossal carcass vast enough to shelter a town in amid its tentacles.
“There, occult devotees rule with eldritch powers gained from the monster’s corpse itself. An unlikely venue for a destination wedding, the frozen landscape of Xylourgos is not for the faint of heart.”
The Borderlands 3 dev team revealed more regarding the new Mayhem Mode 2.0, and the upcoming Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event.
The bad news is that this new content will be going live in April, after the launch of this week’s Borderlands 3 DLC.
Mayhem 2.0 turns Mayhem Mode into its own tab in your ECHO device, so you won’t have to visit the pedestal in Sanctuary III every time you want to adjust it.
Gearbox has also confirmed that there will be 10 Mayhem levels to conquer, as well as over 25 Mayhem Modifiers that are classified by general difficulty.
When a gamer chooses their Mayhem level, this will also determine the kind of loot they get.
This means that at Mayhem 4, weapons will have better stats than the same weapon dropping at Mayhem 2, with the gear you earn in one Mayhem level, preparing you for the next.
