Boris Johnson Cabinet member ‘self-isolating’ over coronavirus after Raab seen coughing

The as yet unnamed MP has put themselves into self-isolation and stepped back from duties whilst awaiting test results. The news comes after MP Nadine Dorries yesterday confirmed she had tested positive for coronavirus.

Dominic Raab, Foreign Secretary, sparked speculation he had coronavirus after coughing into his hand in the Commons.

It is believed the Cabinet member came into contact with Ms Dorries at a Downing Street reception for International Women’s Day on Thursday.

Two other politicians have gone into self-isolation after fears surrounding the coronavirus mounted.

Edward Argar, health minister, and Labour MP Rachael Maskell have stepped back to follow NHS advice.

Amid rising panic surrounding the spread of the virus in the Commons, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the chamber would remain open.
