The Call of Duty Mobile launch has been confirmed a financial success, but the game’s longterm health will rely on new content and controller support.
Fans are wondering when the next major update for the game will be released and if it will include COD Mobile Zombies.
The classic Call of Duty mode has been part of the mobile game since it went into beta – albeit in the form of a greyed out option screen – and we have even had snippets of gameplay released.
But we still don’t have a release date or a window for when the undead adventures will be kicking off.
While Activision’s latest update on the situation didn’t reveal much in the way of a solid launch day, a few hints have been dropped.
According to the dev team, Call of Duty Mobile Zombies mode will be in the hands of fans “before you know it,” which makes it sound like it’s coming soon.
Not only that, but the official COD Mobile social channels are going to start sharing news and screenshots for the mode.
Encouraging fans to follow the official social channels, a post from the Call of Duty Mobile team adds:
“Over the past month, there is one request that we have seen every single day, ‘where is Zombies?’ It will be at your fingertips before you know it.
“Look to our social media channels as we prepare to show Zombies to the world!
“We share plenty through these Community Updates, but our social media channels have screenshots, videos, and more to share that you may not see here.
“As we get further into November, we eagerly wait to share more information with you all about upcoming events, whether it is modes, challenges, new gear or skins, gameplay changes, or additions.”
Predictions have been made on when the new mode might go live in Call of Duty Mobile.
Some fans believe that Activision is holding back until Season 2 kicks off later in November.
This would mean waiting for all the Halloween celebrations to end, which are scheduled to run until November 25.
This could be the perfect time for the dev team to drop the important Call of Duty Mobile Zombies Mode.
From what we have heard so far, it won’t include the traditional wave-based gameplay but will benefit from classic maps.
This would certainly help the game stand out from the other mobile shooters it currently has to compete with.
Another feature that would come in handy is for full Call of Duty Controller support to be added in the coming weeks.
This would ensure players would stick around longer, as relying on touchscreen puts off a lot of traditional gamers.
And the good news for fans is that Call of Duty Bluetooth controller support appears to be in the works for later this month.
Labelling the release date as coming “soon,” fans should have the chance to test out the big feature on Android and iOS before the months up.
Activision is still working a few things out so there is still a chance of another delay being needed to work all the kinks out.
“Just a quick note, but we are planning to release controller support soon and are just finalizing the specifics of how it will be working in the game, specifically with matchmaking,” the latest from the COD team explains.
“Keep checking back for more on this as we get closer to release.”
