Developers Infinity Ward has shared big news about what’s coming next in the latest Call of Duty Modern Warfare updates.
PS4, Xbox One and PC gamers may have noticed that there have been smaller patches over the past few weeks. And this week has seen the development team explain what is being planned next for 2020.
One thing COD fans have found out is that each Tuesday moving forward, there should be at least a few changes to report.
In a new Community Blog shared with Call of Duty fans, Infinity Ward confirmed that they would continue launching Playlist updates on Tuesdays.
So even if there aren’t any big bug fixes included, every Tuesday should see some kind of refresh when it comes to content.
And it appears the rest of the week will also include news, including a developer diary and/or behind the scenes blog on Wednesdays, and a Community Update blog on Fridays.
“And of course, anytime we do a patch or title update, you’ll see patch notes posted on our website, Trello board, and across social media,” Infinity Ward adds.
“Please keep in mind that things are always subject to change, so we’ll do our best to keep you updated each week.”
For now, we don’t know if the Tuesday, January 14, COD download will include anything more than a playlist change.
But we do know what is being worked on, including new bugfixes and gameplay balance tweaks.
Here’s a list of changes being worked on for Modern Warfare which have yet to be given a release date:
Gunfight 3v3: Aside from the Gunfight 1v1 playlist we rolled out this week, we’re working on another version of Gunfight, 3v3!
Additional loadouts: 5 loadouts aren’t enough, so we’ll be adding more loadout slots over the coming weeks!
Gunfight Tournament: It was incredible to see so many people jumping into the Gunfight Tournament Beta back in November and we plan on bringing tournaments back once we’ve squashed a few bugs and added in new rewards.
More 2XP, 2X Weapon XP, and 2X Tier events
- Lighting flickering on various maps
- Mission collision on containers on Cargo
- Platinum skins not unlocking properly
- Out of map exploits in Ground War
- Platinum and Damascus camos glare while ADS
Infinity Ward has also confirmed changes to how they’re handling bugfixes and letting players know what is coming next to the game, telling fans:
“You all are great at keeping us updated with features you’d like to see, modes you want to play, bugs you encounter, and overall feedback.
“With that, we want to keep you as up to date as possible, so starting today we’ll be using this nifty Trello board to show you issues we’re tracking, provide support, and even give a sneak peek at things that are coming up.
“It’s not everything we’re working on, but it’s an awesome way to see what’s on our radar and some of the community issues we’ve acknowledged.”
If new Call of Duty Modern Warfare changes are made today, January 14, we can expect a list of patch notes to be shared sometime after launch.
We would expect any new COD update to go live after 6pm, GMT, with patch notes to follow for PS4, Xbox One and PC gamers to check out.
