It looks like a new Call of Duty Modern Warfare update is in development and could land as soon as Tuesday, June 16, 2020. There’s no guarantee yet on when it will launch on MW and Call of Duty Warzone, but we already know about the existing plans for COD Season 4. Developers Infinity Ward is planning to launch a new multiplayer map called Cheshire Park, as well as two new operators and new modes for Warzone.
We’ve already had Warzone Rumble go live and now more could arrive, including BR Realism and Juggernaut Mode.
There’s no guarantee that either will be debuting this week but here’s what we know about them so far: “In Juggernaut Royale, a Battle Royale mode variant, the massive Multiplayer Killstreak drops into Verdansk – three airdropped care packages, specifically, hold the Juggernaut suit.
“Head to one of the marked locations to capture and don the Juggernaut suit. Once you have it on, you’ll have higher health, a mini-gun, and a sweet music track to accompany you during the Warzone match.
“You’ll still be able to ride in vehicles and climb ladders, and your zero-fall damage will be accompanied by a ground pound of damage that impacts anyone in the immediate area.
“If any of the Juggernauts are sent to the Gulag, after a brief delay period, a new Juggernaut care package will be marked on the Tac-Map and deploy into Verdansk.
“Realism in Warzone follows the same rules as the Multiplayer mode. You’ll have a minimal HUD and deal increased headshot damage. Make sure you make the most of it, but fire with precision.”
Infinity Ward has also confirmed that other changes are being worked on, including tweak being made to the UI.
Improvements are being made following the release of several new modes, including the relegation of Quads and Solos to a sub-menu.
The Infinity Ward team has confirmed that these changes will be coming in the game’s next big update, which is likely to arrive in the coming weeks.
Another leak suggests that Activision is planning to release a 200-player version of Call of Duty Warzone.
This would be made available both in Battle Royale and Plunder, although probably not at the same time.
While Juggernaut has been announced, there has been no official word yet on whether 200-players will be coming to Verdansk.
If a big update is being released this week, it seems pretty likely that Activision will share early patch notes.
Modern Warfare updates usually drop on Tuesdays (Wednesdays in the UK), so we could receive news in the next 24-hours.
Patches have been going live at around 11pm PT, and it seems likely that the development team will stick to that schedule in June.
Activision also has plans for three new modes including a classic, to arrive during the Season alongside other Multiplayer playlist, moshpits and updates:
In Team Defender, a single player must hold the flag while their teammates defend them. Use communication, intel, and powerful Killstreaks to counter the opposition.
One in the Chamber, a classic Free-For-All party game, starts players off with weapon and a single bullet. It only takes one shot to down an enemy, but make sure it’s on target or you’ll run out of ammo. Earn additional bullets by getting kills or with a melee attack. You’ve got three lives, so make ‘em count.
Take out your opponents in All or Nothing. In this Free-For-All mode, players have limited armaments: only a handgun and a Throwing Knife. Aim with precision and get the most kills to claim victory.
