Activision and developers Infinity Ward have released a new Call of Duty Modern Warfare Playlist update today, May 8. It won’t take very long to download and while there might be a bit of server disruption from players being logged out, there doesn’t appear to have been a spike in problems. But while today’s COD download is very small, it does contain some interesting changes that COD gamers will want to know about.
One of them has been made in Call of Duty Warzone and will likely change how the flow of the game runs.
Helicopters were recently removed by Infinity Ward and have now been brought back into circulation.
This means that the flying vehicle will be available again across all modes, and should be found in their usual spots.
It’s hard to say what impact the absence of the flying vehicles had on gameplay as whole this week.
Fans did note a rise in snipers but that might be in connection with a number of other changes that were made this week.
Being able to fly across the map relatively quickly will make Recon Contract more desirable, which could change the dynamics of the final circle.
Other COD Playlist changes include replacing BR Solos with some called BR: Stimulus Solos.
This new mode variant removes the Gulag and instead makes it possible for players to return to the match with the right cash amount.
Players will start with around $4500 on them and will need to carry on collecting it to guarantee they can drop back into the game multiple times.
It should also be noted that you drop half your cash every time you die and respawning ends heading into the penultimate circle.
