Analysis from Compare the Market have revealed more than 10 million drivers could see their insurance costs increase by driving to work after lockdown.
Research from the group found 61 percent expected to commute to work by car after the pandemic compared to just 34 percent who drive to work before.
Compare the Market says this equates to over 10.5million motorists who will need to eventually upgrade their cover to include commuting under their policy.
An increase in the number of cars on the road as workers desperately avoid public transport could also impact on average premiums.
