Carrie Symonds coronavirus fears: PM’s pregnant partner ‘has symptoms’

She has not yet been tested.

Miss Symonds said she had spent the past week in bed with symptoms of COVID-19.

But she added that after seven days of rest, she feels “stronger” and is “on the mend”.

The Prime Minister’s pregnant fiance wrote on Twitter: “I’ve spent the past week in bed with the main symptoms of Coronavirus.

“I haven’t needed to be tested and, after seven days of rest, I feel stronger and I’m on the mend.”

She also tweeted a link to advice published by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

This provides information for pregnant woman on coronavirus.

Miss Symonds accompanies this with the tweet: “Being pregnant with Covid-19 is obviously worrying.

“To other pregnant women, please do read and follow the most up to date guidance which I found to be v reassuring.”

The Prime Minister is currently recovering after testing positive for COVID-19 last week and had been due to leave self-isolation on Friday.

But in a tweeted video message, Mr Johnson said he is remaining in self-isolation with mild symptoms including a raised temperature.

This is a breaking story. More to follow.
