The classic Austin Healey 100/4s has been fully restored and upgraded to M specification. The 706 XVG model will carry a pre-sale estimate of between £100,000 and £110,000 at the auction scheduled for April.
Included in the sale is a Brantz rally timer, Heritage Certificate and Mille Milgla registration.
The rally is one of the most lucrative motor events on the calendar and is only open to particular vehicles.
Cars must have vintage documentation proving they participated in a Mille Miglia race between 1927 and 1957.
The strict criteria make it almost impossible for classic car fans to enter the event.
Other Austin Healey 100’s for sale currently range form just over £51,000 to £68,000.
Car and Classic who are also selling another Austin Healey 100/4 described the car as one of the “great sports cars of the 1950s”.
In the advert, Car and Classic said: “One of the truly great sports cars of the 1950s, the Austin-Healey was a case of the right car at the right time.
“Having developed the original prototype for the 1952 London Motor Show, Donald Healey’s little company based in Warwick was unable to take advantage on the unprecedented reaction.”
Fortuitously, the boss of Austin, Leonard Lord, spotted the Healey and recognised its potential as an affordable rival to Triumph’s successful TR series.
“As a result, Austin and Healey made a deal to jointly produce and market the 100 under their combined names and a legend was born.”
