Coronavirus: What to avoid during three week UK lockdown, as Boris warns to stay indoors

The Prime Minister has said that residents can leave their house to buy household necessities, but that is all as other shops will close. Under the new guidelines, social gathering and events will also be completely stopped, as people are urged to stay inside immediately.

People will only be allowed to leave the house for limited purposes

Residents are allowed to shop for food- as infrequently as possible.

Only one form of exercise per day is allowed outdoors, such as a cycle, walk or run.

You will have to either exercise alone, or with other members of your household.

All gatherings and social events are halted.

Only two people at a time will be allowed in public together, excluding those you already live with.

Weddings, baptisms and other ceremonies have been stopped.

Funerals are still able to go ahead.

Those who flout the rules could be fined

The prime minister has said that he will give police powers to disperse gatherings.

Parks will remain open, but only for exercise purposes, all playgrounds will be closed.

Lockdown could be extended beyond three weeks

Boris will continue to asses the situation and relax laws if it is possible to do so.
