Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris will be kicking off later today on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and while we don’t know what loot will be included it won’t be long until we find out. The event will be launching later today, and this week’s rewards will be confirmed by the first Guardian to score wins. The one thing we will find out from Bungie is the map selection, with the development team focusing on other issues this week.
A message from Bungie explains: “Many of you have been chasing a Lie. Last week, you began your hunt with Ana, successfully defending Seraph Towers in the Winding Cove, Anchor of Light, and the Rupture (or watched as your fellow Guardians carried the weight…).
“You burned through a thousand enemies with your trusty Shotgun. Sadly, your quest for answers came to a halt on Sunday evening, all thanks to a faulty door on the Moon’s bunker.
“Earlier this morning, Destiny 2 Hotfix 188.8.131.52 was released, unblocking your journey in finding truth behind The Lie. While we hate to see a bug ship, we’re excited to right the ship as quickly as possible.”
Interest in the Trials appears to be slipping, but that doesn’t mean that many active Guardians won’t be looking to score the best loot.
The Trials of Osiris event will be launching today and ending with the last Weekly Reset in May.
The development team will be releasing the 3v3 Crucible playlist at around 6pm GMT on May 22, 2020, and returning players will want to visit Saint-14 soon after, who will be located in the Tower Hangar.
The Osiris reset offers a new inventory of Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.
A different map and a fresh set of rewards will be available to Guardians today if they meet the requirements of the 960 Power rating needed to buy Passages.
As ever, Trials fans will earn exclusive rewards by defeating other teams of three, while hoping to gain entry to the Lighthouse.
But gamers will have to wait until Trials of Osiris launches to find out exactly what loot will be available and what map will be featured.
This mode will be available until Tuesday, May 22 and will end before the weekly reset has been completed.
Away from Trials of Osiris, Bungie has confirmed that they have big plans for Destiny 2, including how the World Loot Pool works.
“Because the world pool serves as a baseline of legendary gear that can be earned across different activities, we want to update and refresh it seasonally with meta relevant weapons, some of which were previously exclusive to specific activities like Gambit or Crucible,” a message from Bungie explains.
“This shared pool can also be unwieldy — if you’re looking for a specific roll of a specific weapon, a pool too large can make it statistically challenging to find, much less with the roll you want.
“Starting in Season 11, it will be curated both for relevance and overall size, to strike a balance between number of rewards and the chance to get a sought-after drop.
“Every season gear from previous seasons will be added, and any gear that would no longer have a Max Power Level greater than or equal to the current Season cap will be cycled out to ensure that drops are Power relevant in the current Season.”
