EA Access on Steam: Summer release news and June reveal date confirmed

EA Access is being launched on Steam this year and Electronic Arts have also revealed plans for some of its other titles. EA games have been dropping on Steam since last year and a few more made their debut this week. The Valve platform now boasts the likes of Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

But the big news is that EA Access has a Steam release date set for Summer 2020. And while we don’t have a set time for when the vault will be opening, it doesn’t look like gamers will be waiting much longer for access.

Electronic Arts have not shared a full release date for the debut of EA Access on Steam but they have announced that a new reveal is being planned for June.

This news will be shared during EA Play Live on EA.com at 4pm PST on June 11. That will mean things kicking off around midnight on June 12 in the UK.

The full statement from EA explains: “Electronic Arts has now launched the first wave of 25+ EA games coming to Steam!

“Players can explore the fantastical worlds of the BioWare award-winning Role-Playing Games – Dragon Age: Inquisition and Dragon Age II – filled with rich story, complex characters and challenging combat or experience high-speed, white-knuckle driving action from the inner city streets to open mountain roads in Need for Speed Heat, Need for Speed: Rivals and Need for Speed (2016).

“Players can also battle it out in the wacky, fun and over-the-top shooter, Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™, or play from a selection of the bold and innovative games from EA’s indie development partners like Unravel, Unravel II, Fe and Sea of Solitude.

“These games will also be available as part of an EA Access subscription on Steam that will launch to players later this summer.

“A library of titles awaits you in The Vault, but beyond the games themselves, EA Access enhances your gaming experience with a medley of rewards.

“Get the red-carpet treatment with exclusive catalogue-wide discounts and in-game member benefits for some of our biggest franchises.

“For more information on upcoming games bound for Steam, tune in to EA Play Live on EA.com at 4pm PST on June 11.”

EA Access is a gaming subscription service currently available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and coming soon to Steam on PC.

Owning an EA Access Pass lets gamers try brand new Electronic Arts games before launch day, and also provides access to a vault of titles.

Those who subscribe also save 10% on EA digital purchases, with membership costing around $4.99 a month.

By the end of 2020, EA Access will be available on PS4, Xbox One and Steam, as well as the Origin PC platform.
