EA Play 2020: When is the EA Play UK start time and date?

EA Play Live 2020 is going ahead as a live-streamed event covering all the latest news from Electronics Arts’ upcoming games. FIFA 21 is expected to be one of the primary reveals, but some rumours suggest new Star Wars and Battlefield projects could be announced too. EA may also take this as an opportunity to announce other projects, including things like Apex Legends for Android and iOS devices. The only downside is that watching EA Play 2020 will be harder for those in the UK, with the live stream scheduled to kick off very late at night.

WHAT IS THE EA PLAY 2020 START TIME IN THE UK?

As revealed by Electronic Arts earlier this year, EA Play 2020 has a UK start time set for Midnight on Friday, June 19, 2020.

For gamers in the United States, EA Play will begin streaming at 4pm on Thursday, June 18, 2020.

EA Play 2020 will be available to watch for free on platforms like EA.com, YouTube and Twitch, and it’s unclear how long the event will run for.

Past EA Plays have gone over the 60-minute mark, with this year’s event confirmed to include exclusive reveals.

A message from Electronic Arts adds: “EA Play Live 2020 is about connecting players around the world and bringing them closer to the game franchises they love.

“During this year’s digital event, we’ll showcase our games through a live broadcast, community content, and more.

“Tune in on Thursday, June 18th at 4.00pm PT on EA.com. Stay tuned for more information here – and follow us on Twitter and Facebook.”

Away from gaming reveals, EA has confirmed that it’s recommitting to dealing with online abuse in its games with a new community charter.

These new community guidelines will enforce new disciplinary policies and could be one of the subjects talked about during EA Play 2020.

The announcement from Electronic Arts explains: “At Electronic Arts, we believe in the power of positive play. So today, we are proud to introduce the Positive Play Charter – an updated set of community guidelines with clear consequences for players who engage in racist, sexist, homophobic, and abusive acts in our games and channels.

“If we see someone being offensive or abusive, we’re going to hold them responsible for their actions.

“We believe that our communities should be safe, fun, inclusive environments free of threats, harassment and other toxic or unlawful behavior. In an effort to do better and to enforce our Positive Play Charter, we are applying additional resources and tools to our moderation and abuse reporting programs.

“We have a disciplinary policy that is in place, and is being applied consistently across all our games and services. In recent weeks, we have removed more than 3,500 player-generated assets from our games – inappropriate and hurtful names and language — and took action with the players that had posted the content. We will continue to consistently do this.

The last few weeks have been a stark reminder that we have a responsibility to stay vigilant in this effort.

“We won’t tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, harassment or any form of abuse. We can build better, healthier communities inside – and outside – our games, and that’s what we are here to do. Last week we included important anti-racism messaging in many of our games, reaching millions of players. Every step towards a healthier community is a positive one.”
