easyJet holidays: Package holidays set to restart in weeks – but only to some destinations

After months of cancellations, easyJet has announced the return of its package holiday arm easyJet Holidays. Package deals are set to return from August 1, 2020, however, Britons will only be able to jet off to certain destinations.
However, the holiday experience will see some changes in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
easyJet has introduced a series of health and safety measures to its flights in a bid to protect passengers and crew.
Passengers are now required to wear a face mask for the duration of their flight.
Customers will also be provided with hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes on board.
The airline assured all of its aircraft would undergo “enhanced cleaning and disinfection”.
EasyJet chief executive Johan Lundgren added: “These measures will remain in place for as long as is needed to ensure customers and crew are able to fly safely as the world continues to recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.”
easyJet Holidays is also working with hotels to ensure they meet safety requirements.
According to the travel firm’s website: “Our customer safety teams work continuously with our hotel partners to make sure that the hotels, their facilities and operations meet our expectations and standards, however like all environments, there is a need for you to be aware of the hazards so that you can take best care of yourself and others.”
Though Britons can jet off on holidays now without the need to quarantine when they return, this rule only applies to the countries listed by the UK government.
Travellers may also be subject to differing restrictions in their holiday destination.
The FCO explains: “From 10 July 2020 you will not have to self-isolate when you arrive in England, if you are travelling or returning from one of the countries with travel corridor exemption, have not been to or stopped in a country that’s not on the travel corridors exemption list in the previous 14 days.
“This applies to all travel to England, by train, ferry, coach, air or any other route.
“If you have been to or stopped in a country that’s not on the travel corridors exemption list you will have to self-isolate until 14 days have passed since you left that country.”
