Elder Scrolls Blades releases on Switch: Download the free Nintendo Switch game now

Without much fanfare of build-up, Bethesda has released Elder Scrolls Blades on the Nintendo Switch this week. And the best part of it is that The Elder Scrolls: Blades can be downloaded for free from the Nintendo eShop. It’s not the first Elder Scrolls game to be made playable on the Nintendo Switch and it probably won’t be the last.

Elder Scrolls 6 is years away and Bethesda doesn’t appear to be working on any new projects or remake for the handheld console.

The Elder Scrolls Blades is already available to play on Android and iOS and was scheduled to land on Switch before being delayed.

But that extra time has been put to good use, with the Nintendo Switch version supporting the platform’s Handheld, TV and Tabletop modes, “offering new and flexible ways to enjoy Blades – whether you’re on the couch or on the go.”

Bethesda has also announced that Elder Scrolls Blades includes cross-platform support with the mobile versions.

For those who might have missed its announcement, the Elder Scrolls: Blades is a dungeon crawler supported by microtransactions.

Blades allows gamers to create and customize a character but it has also come under scrutiny due to how gameplay and the Gems system works.

A paid version of Blades can be purchased, with the Quick Start Edition via the Nintendo eShop costing $14.99.

It should be noted that The Elder Scrolls Blades download is available from the eShop and weighs in at around 1.2 GB.
