Elvis Presley and Led Zeppelin: The King’s HILARIOUS meeting with band at his concert
Elvis Presley and Led Zeppelin are two of the most successful music artists of all time. And one time, they had an amusing encounter with each other when the band attended one of the King’s concerts. It was 46 years ago this month in fact.
The official Graceland Instagram page posted: “May 11, 1974: Members of Led Zeppelin attended an Elvis Presley show at the Los Angeles Forum.
“During the show, Elvis stopped the band and jokingly said: ‘Wait a minute.
“‘If we can start together fellas, because we’ve got Led Zeppelin out there. Let’s try to look like we know what we’re doing.’”
Zeppelin met with Elvis after the show and spent over two hours backstage, where he asked for their autographs to give to Lisa Marie.”

Elvis also met The Beatles back in 1965 at his LA home.
The Fab Four were so in awe of their music icon that they were speechless.
Elvis knew he had to break the ice and joked he’d have to go to bed if they just sat there staring at him.
In the end, the five had a jam session and then went on to play some pool.
Meanwhile, Elvis’ home of Graceland is temporarily closed due to the pandemic.
For the duration of the lockdown, the front of the Memphis mansion is being floodlit in the red, white and blue of the American flag.
Fans can watch the patriotic sight on a live cam found on Graceland’s official website.
Graceland hopes to reopen on May 21, but the closure could well be extended.
