Emmerdale spoilers: Will and Harriet make pact to murder love rival DI Malone

Emmerdale‘s Harriet Finch (played by Katherine Dow Blyton) is about to get the shock of her life when corrupt cop DI Malone (Mark Womack) makes a big, heartfelt confession. The police officer has been terrorising her family ever since he made his debut in the Dales earlier this year, and now it looks like things are about to heat up once again between him and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), which could have deadly consequences. But this time, it’s not over his past misdemeanours.

In upcoming scenes, the village vicar will be taken completely by surprise as Malone gets something off his chest.

She’s rendered speechless as the police officer confesses his undying love for her.

Catching her as they deliver flowers to villagers, Malone jumps out form his hiding spot to steal another conversation with Harriet. “Look, I’ve tried to forget you and I can’t,” he says.

“And I wont let you throw your life away on that loser.”

The vicar snaps back: “Sorry, I mustn’t have got the memo – since when is who I marry any of your business?”

“Since I fell in love with you,” he declares.

Was this perhaps the reason he came to the Dales in the first place?

Maybe he was following his heart rather than trying to cause trouble for poor, terrified Will.

Fans are aware that the pair have a history as they worked in the police force together and their friendship soon blossomed into a relationship.

But that was all in the past. So we thought.

A few weeks ago, the pair couldn’t control their urges and one thing led to another and they ended up having secret romp in the church rooms, something Harriet is yet to admit to her fiancé Will.

Viewers were left outraged with her betrayal, not only because she is a vicar but because of all the trouble the cop has caused for her family.

Over the past year, Malone has forced Will to doing several highly illegal jobs for him, under the pretence that he will be sent back to prison if he doesn’t comply, all while threatening his family in the process.

Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Will’s daughter’s partner Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) were also caught in the middle of things and the situation went south dangerously quickly as they plotted against the policeman’s risky plans.

Soon, it became all too much to handle and a fragile Will was forced to tell his family everything that was going on, leaving Harriet furious that he had been keeping these kinds of secrets from her.

Desperate to turn a corner in his life and make things up to his lady, he got down on one knee, to which the vicar accepted and wedding bells will soon be chiming once again.

Or will they?

Still smitten with Harriet, after Malone found out about their engagement he wasn’t impressed and has taken every opportunity to insult Will, in an attempt to get his former lover to leave him.

But she’s standing her ground and that can only mean trouble in the long run.

We know Malone isn’t one to back down from a fight, especially when he holds all the power of the law.

Could this be the final showdown between him and his nemesis Will?

As the police officer becomes increasingly more desperate to win Harriet over, could Will lash out and end up killing Malone in a fight over love?

It’s only a matter of time before he finds out about his proposition to Harriet, and it’s clearly going to ruffle some feathers.

When has declaring your love for someone else’s fiancé ever gone down well? Especially when you have all the baggage between them to go with it.
