Southern parts of England are today enjoying temperatures in the mid to low 20s while the North, Scotland and Northern Ireland have temperatures in the high teens. For southern regions, temperatures are set to hover between 19C and 23C until at least Monday. And according to analysis by weather experts at WX Charts, mainland Europe will also see warmer conditions continue.
In southern parts of Spain temperatures are set to soar to 23C on Thursday and Friday while Portugal will reach 23C on Friday.
Over the next few days temperatures in southern Italy will hover in the early 20s.
And in northern parts of the country, which remains in a nationwide coronavirus lockdown, temperatures will top 22C over the weekend.
People in the south of France will enjoy a heatwave of 23C as they head into the weekend.
The Netherlands is also set to reach temperatures above 20C and the mercury in many eastern European countries is set to peak at 20C in the coming days.
On Thursday Belgium will experience glorious sunshine and temperatures will hit 23C.
Charts from weatheronline.co.uk show temperatures in Austria will top 24C on Friday.
Paris is expected to be the hottest place in Europe on the same day, with temperatures soaring to 26C.
“But because the winds will be lighter tomorrow it may well be that we see temperatures a couple of degrees up on those of today, possible 25C to the west of London, more likely 23C -24C.
“And that’s because we’ve had high pressure with us for much of the week.
“But that is starting to relent, it will start to decline through Friday and the weekend.”
The balmy conditions are forecast to continue in the UK and on the continent for at least a week and a half.
Meteorologists at the Met Office have predicted sunshine and gentle breezes for London and the South East on Friday.
They said: “Dry with largely unbroken sunshine, once any early mist or fog patches clear.
“Becoming warm inland, but coastal areas will be noticeably cooler with a light onshore breeze.
“Maximum temperature 22C.”
On Saturday and Sunday they expect sunny spells and have said there is a possibility of some isolated showers arriving on Sunday evening and Monday.
