Hamilton begins his quest for a sixth Drivers’ World Championship on Sunday at the Australian Grand Prix.
The 34-year-old has been with Mercedes since the 2013 season, winning four world titles for the Silver Arrows.
However, many have predicted that he will walk away from the sport before too long due to his commitments outside of the sport.
Hamilton has long been a fashion-conscious figure, and in 2018 collaborated with Tommy Hilfiger to create his own clothing line.
That, coupled with his love for skydiving and extreme sports, has led many to believe that he will take his eye off the goal of Formula 1.
While Wolff insisted the superstar’s interests away from the track can only be a good thing, he admitted the British driver has given him a few scares in the past.
“I am always worried,” Wolff joked.
“We had a laugh last year because I couldn’t get hold of him and couldn’t get hold of my chief strategist.
“One of the race engineers found out they were racing motorbikes and couldn’t pick up the phone, so they were a bit apologetic.
“Lewis is not an 18-year-old or a 19-year-old young man anymore.
“He’s a five-time world champion, he knows exactly what works for him and what doesn’t.
“All these activities are not a negative distraction, but rather something he enjoys doing.
“Some things he enjoys doing, like sports, other things are like a passion like the fashion business.
“Any time he is able to decompress from motor racing he comes back stronger.
“We must not be judgemental, some people go skydiving, some people go meditating in India, some are out for the ladies, let’s just accept what he does, he’s justified.
“Let’s let him show he’s one of the best out there.”
