Floyd Mayweather will fight YouTube star Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition on February 20, he has announced. The undefeated former five-weight champion has announced his return to the ring at the beginning of 2021.
Mayweather, 43, ended his career unbeaten in all 50 if his bouts and is regarded as one of the best of all-time.
The American last fought back in 2017 when he beat UFC star Conor McGregor.
Paul, 25, has fought once professionally, losing to fellow Youtuber KSI in November 2019.
There has been speculation this fight would take place for month with Paul taunting Mayweather repeatedly to his 22 million YouTube subscribers.
The pair have also exchanged insults on social media hyping they may meet in the ring.
Last weekend, Logan’s younger brother Jake, fought on the undercard of the exhibition between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.
Paul knocked out former NBA star Nate Robinson in Los Angeles in dominant fashion.
It is likely the fight on February 20 will draw a huge pay-per-view gate as Mayweather returns to action against the YouTube star.
In December 2018, he needed just 140 seconds to beat Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition boxing bout worth a reported $9m (£6.7m).
This week, Mayweather rubbished claims that he was preparing to face a rematch with McGregor.
He explained: “I took it (the McGregor fight) serious, but I wanted to have some fun in the fight and I wanted to entertain the people.
“You have to give the people a show, so I gave the people a show.
“If I wanted to go out there and f*** him up and blaze him right out the gate, I could’ve did that. But my thing is this, if I would’ve did that, then it wouldn’t be probably a part two.”
The first contest between KSI and Logan Paul and became one of the largest non-professional boxing fights of all-time with 1.3million pay-per-views worldwide.
The second fight in 2019 saw both fighters receive approximately $900,000 each.
