Forget Ring Fit Adventure, there’s a new Nintendo Switch fitness game – and it’s FREE

With Ring Fit Adventure stock shortages still widespread, Nintendo Switch owners have been forced to get their fitness fix elsewhere.

Nintendo has seemingly recognised the Ring Fit Adventure stock issues by releasing a brand new fitness game for free.

Jump Rope Challenge is a surprise freebie available to download from the Nintendo eShop.

Created by a small group of Nintendo developers at home, Jump Rope Challenge is a skipping sim with a colourful art style and simple control scheme.

Just hold the Switch Joy-Cons like a skipping rope and jump as many times as you can.

“Take an active break in your day with Jump Rope Challenge, free for Nintendo Switch!” reads a Nintendo post.

“Hold both Joy-Con controllers in your hands and jump while moving your arms, as if you’re exercising with a skipping rope!

The on-screen rabbit will reflect your movements, allowing your jumps to be counted, and you can also record how many times you’ve jumped each day. By moving your hands and jumping at the right time, your score will increase.”

The only downside is that Jump Rope Challenge will only be available for a limited time.

The game will be removed from the Nintendo eShop at the end of September (2020), so it’s a good idea to download the game sooner rather than later.

The best part is that it’s completely free of charge, and you don’t even need a Nintendo Online subscription.

It also weighs in at just 78MB, so it won’t take up much room on your Nintendo Switch storage.

Despite its small file size and simple gameplay, Jump Rope Challenge does have a few different play options.

You can perform jumps by bending knees and moving your arms if noise is an issue, and two people can jump at once.

“A daily total of 100 jumps is the goal – and that’s where the ‘challenge’ part comes in, as each player’s scores can be saved and challenged again and again,” Nintendo continues.

“You can also pass a Joy-Con to someone else and jump together, where the total score counts both players’ successful jumps!

“If you’re concerned about making too much noise, simply just bending your knees or moving your arms are also available ways to jump rope and get your body moving.”

It’s not on the same level as the excellent Ring Fit Adventure, but with stock shortages continuing, it’s the next best thing.
