Fortnite season 3 release date has been pushed back by Epic Games, with the launch of the next Battle Pass once again being delayed.
Today Epic Games confirmed the Fortnite season 3 release date has been delayed by a week, with the new season now starting on Thursday June 11.
Not only that but the highly anticipated end-of-season live event, which had been dubbed the Fortnite Doomsday event, has also been delayed.
The Fortnite Device live event will now be taking place on Saturday June 6.
Announcing the news in a blog post Epic Games said: “In an effort to get everything ready for Chapter 2 – Season 3, we’re extending Season 2 by one week.
“The new launch day of Season 3 will be Thursday, June 11. Also make sure to check out a one-time-only live event called The Device, now scheduled for Saturday, June 6 at 2 PM ET (please show up 30 minutes early to help secure your spot, space is limited!).
“Before the new Season, don’t forget to complete your Battle Pass Challenges and lock in appearance choices for Brutus, TNTina, Meowscles, Skye, Midas, and Maya. There’s still time to complete the recently-added Location Domination and Storm The Agency Challenges.”
This isn’t the first time that Epic Games has delayed the start of Fortnite season 3.
Last month the devs announced the new Fortnite Battle Pass wouldn’t be ready in time for its originally planned-for April 30 release date.
At the time the Fortnite makers said: “We’re extending Chapter 2 – Season 2 of Fortnite beyond the original April 30 date. Our plan is to launch Chapter 2 – Season 3 on June 4.
“Before then, there’s lots of content coming in the current Season. We have multiple game updates on the way that will deliver fresh gameplay, new Challenges, bonus XP, and a couple more surprises up our sleeve!”
