Google Maps: Rare sighting seen on UK street view – have you seen this vehicle?

Google Maps Street View often sends images viral, especially when it picks up rare sightings of vehicles or bizarre captures. Google Maps is a great tool for people wanting to map their way to new destinations and it sometimes picks up rare sightings of old vehicles that have not been seen in many years.

The small white car was seen on a street in Borehamwood outside of a Sainsbury’s local.

The car looks very small with a big Land Rover following behind it.

While the number plate is blurred due to Google’s privacy reasons, the vehicle could be up to 47 years old.

Only Fools and Horses fans might recognise a similar saloon version of the car from the show.

It turns out that the photo was a glitch as the vehicle must have been moving whilst Google were capturing the shot.

Glitches are fairly common on Google Maps Street View.

Google Maps creates the images by sticking together the 360 degree image sets submitted by users, meaning small errors can easily occur.

However the glitch looked so real that one user replied: “That’s one of the cleanest glitches I’ve ever seen, almost looks real.”

Rare vehicle sightings are common on Google Maps whether it is legitimate or a glitch, they can cause Google Maps users to become amused.
