Google Maps Street View: Bizarre Las Vegas house leaves viewers baffled

Google Maps Street View is a great tool for mapping your way to a new location or discovering parts of the world you have never been to before. In doing so, however, it often reveals some rather unexpected sights.

On the red driveway sits two cars, which aren’t particularly out of the ordinary.

However, they are joined, bizarrely, by a replica of a space rocket.

In another twist, the front of the house also features a victorian style street lamp.

Yet this is not the edge of the mind-boggling aspects of this rare home.

On the roof, there is what appears to be a selection of statues depicting humans in a variety of poses.

To the front of the property are a series of white planters, bearing the words: “Palace of the Governor Uxmal Yucatan Mexico”.

Confused by the scene, the user took to Reddit to ask: “What is happening at this Las Vegas house?!”

Luckily, it seems there is an explanation behind the intriguing sight.

According to a second Reddit user, the building is the “Hammargren House”, a local legend in Nevada.

The home museum was opened by Lonnie Hammargren in 1961 and features a treasure trove of weird and wonderful memorabilia.

Local sources say the owner spends more than 50 hours a week working on the home which features its own underground mine, mini Taj Mahal and T-rex Replica.

The property measures 12,000 sq ft and it is home to three houses, with every room in every house adopting its own theme.

Trip Advisor reviews state the home is usually open for tours on Nevada Day weekends, which take place during the last weekend of October.
