Google Maps Street View: ‘Cursed’ woman’s body horrifies in creepy photo

Google Maps Street View has captured all sorts of weird and wonderful spectacles since its inception. While the sights viewed on the platform can often be entertaining, sometimes they’re downright disturbing. This was certainly what some thought when they spotted one woman online.

However, it’s what is visible in the path that has alarmed viewers.

A woman appears to be present amid the rural scene.

However, this looks to be no ordinary female hiker.

Only her head can be seen in the Google Maps photo.

Where her body should be there is simply thin air.

The woman is nothing more than a floating head.

Yet despite the horrifying nature of the spectacle the woman is smiling.

The Reddit user who posted the photo dubbed it “cursed.”

Many others have flocked to share their thoughts on the bizarre shot.

“The talking head,’ one commented on the photo.

“This reminds me of something from an early FMV video game or so,” another added.

So what actually happened here? The most likely explanation is that the image has experienced a glitch and the woman does indeed have a body.

The photography splicing may have caused the problem due to the way the images form.

When taking the photo, the 360-degree cameras shoot multiple pictures to create a seamless image.

However, moving objects often ruin the scene as they shift when the photos are taken.

It would appear the woman moved when the images were taken, resulting in the strange photo.

Meanwhile, other viewers of the photo were more intrigued at what Google chose to blur out in the photo.

Normally, the tech giant blurs our faces for privacy.

However, here, it’s a patch of foliage to one side that has been blurred out – although it’s unclear why.

Another joked that Google had actually censored her body, hence the floating head. “Reverse censoring” they quipped.
