The new ruling was announced yesterday, with Athens declaring the suspension of air links with the UK would continue for another two weeks.
“The ban [on passenger flights from] Great Britain remains in place for the next two weeks,” Greek tourism minister, Harry Theoharis, said in a televised presentation of the country’s health policies.
This comes after the EU Commission advised that the bloc must reopen its external borders in a “strictly coordinated” way.
On Thursday, EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson said the body was advising that travel restrictions on non-essential travel be extended until June 30.
