Grand Theft Auto 6 will almost certainly be the biggest game of the next console generation.
With GTA 5 still going strong in the monthly sales charts, and GTA Online continuing to rake in the cash, Rockstar has been more than happy to take its time before announcing a release date for Grand Theft Auto 6.
Needless to say, this has led to countless rumours about where GTA 6 will be set, when it will launch, and what it will look like.
With the past two mainline GTA games set in Liberty City and San Andreas, the general consensus is that GTA 6 will go back to the Miami-inspired Vice City.
However, despite its popularity with long-time GTA fans, not everybody wants a return to the iconic location.
Following the recent appearance of a GTA 6 concept video set in London, the majority of Grand Theft Auto fans want the game to be set in the UK.
In a poll with more than 3,200 votes at the time of writing, a whopping 1,454 said that GTA 6 should be set in London.
That’s compared to just 720 votes for Vice City, 372 votes for Tokyo, and 336 votes for somewhere else entirely.
Perhaps surprisingly, a return to San Andreas managed 261 votes, while Liberty City received 127 votes.
The numbers are correct at the time of writing, although we’ve kept the poll open in case you’re not happy with the results and want to have your say.
The last time GTA made the trip to London was all the way back in the late 1990s.
Available on PC and the original PlayStation, Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 retained the top-down view from the original games.
While the PSOne spinoff wasn’t exactly a classic, UK Drill Insider’s video has certainly made a return to London a tantalising prospect.
Previous rumours have suggested GTA 6 will be set in the 1970s or 1980s, and feature a single playable protagonist.
Likewise, the next Grand Theft Auto game will allegedly take place in Vice City and Rio de Janeiro.
It’s also been claimed that the Grand Theft Auto sequel would launch on PS5 and Xbox Series. This ties in to a previous leak that suggested GTA 6 would have a 2020 release date, although this now looks highly unlikely.
It’s more likely that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be announced in 2020, followed by a release within the next couple of years.
