GTA 6 release: Grand Theft Auto trailer boost for PS4 and Xbox One gamers
Rockstar Games could release the first teasers for GTA 6 in the coming months, and that’s great news for PS4 and Xbox One fans. While everyone is waiting to find out what is coming next to Grand Theft Auto in 2020, news is still thin on the ground regarding fresh online DLC and games. Rumours have also dried up regarding what Rockstar Games has planned for GTA 6, with parent company Take-Two Interactive only sharing a few hints about its pipeline.
That’s where analysts and industry experts step in and try to provide predictions on when big news could be shared.
Investor Place has the latest, suggesting that the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be very important to Take-Two Interactive’s future plans.
“Game consoles — which represent nearly three-quarters of the company’s revenue — saw game sales decrease by over 40%,” the report reads.
“That was partially made up for by surging PC platform sales, but Take-Two is clearly feeling the impact of the ageing Xbox One and Playstation 4.”
TT2 had a tough February, with the impact of the Coronavirus and its third-quarter earnings hitting stock value.
But even with these events, analysts are still backing Take-Two, with 27 polled investment analysts telling CNN Business it was a good opportunity to buy.
However, while that’s a good sign that some big news is probably coming soon, IP doesn’t expect to see any big reveals for the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
Instead, they predict the GTA 6 release date could arrive in 2021, with the report adding: “The company’s various developers and studios will undoubtedly have some titles ready for the new console launches.
“But it’s unlikely that TTWO’s biggest franchises will have new titles there in time for the launch.
“Red Dead Redemption 2 was just released in October 2018. And while Grand Theft Auto V is long in the tooth — it was released way back in 2013 — GTA VI seems unlikely to arrive in 2020.
“However, 2021 is a definite possibility, and by then there will be an installed base of new console owners desperate for next generation mayhem.”
So with that in mind, there’s still a chance of an announcement being made in 2020, including a big trailer reveal.
Rockstar Games would likely need at least nine months to start building up hype in the next Grand Theft Auto game.
So there’s a chance of something popping up in the coming months for GTA gamers on all platforms.
A 2021 release date would also make it possible for the next Grand Theft Auto game to be released on PS4 and Xbox One, even if it would remain a slim one.
While the latest rumours suggest that GTA 6 will be connected to Vice City in some way, fans would also be happy to see a return to London.
Following the recent appearance of a GTA 6 concept video set in London, the majority of Grand Theft Auto fans want the game to be set in the UK.
In a poll with more than 3,200 votes at the time of writing, a whopping 1,454 said that GTA 6 should be set in London.
That’s compared to just 720 votes for Vice City, 372 votes for Tokyo, and 336 votes for somewhere else entirely.
Perhaps surprisingly, a return to San Andreas managed 261 votes, while Liberty City received 127 votes.
A return to London seems unlikely but until Rockstar Games shares its first trailer, we won’t know for certain where the next Grand Theft Auto game will be set.
