Holidays 2020: Maldives, Cuba and Cape Verde could be on next ‘air bridge’ list

Holidays to the Maldives and other top travel destinations could be back on the cards. New travel advice updates by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office suggest a new slew of countries could be added to the ‘air bridge’ list. The UK government unveiled its ‘travel corridor’ list on July 3.

New evidence would suggest fresh amendments are imminently due, with new countries set to be added to the travel list.

A plethora of countries have recently been subjected to “editorial review.”

The FCO travel advice page of a number of countries now reads: “Editorial review to remove ‘Return to the UK’ section and improve ‘Coronavirus’ section”.

The same wording was added to the destinations now on the travel corridors list in the days before they were announced.

DON’T MISS

This suggests the countries with the amendment could soon welcome UK tourists without the need to self-isolate on return.

The Maldives – a hotspot hugely popular with British holidaymakers – could be set to be on the list.

Other popular tourist destinations potentially on the new list are Cuba, Nepal and Cape Verde.

The full list of nations now featuring the updated wording are as follows: Cuba, Russia, Sweden, Tanzania, Armenia, Cape Verde, Maldives, Ukraine, Ivory Coast, Myanmar, Nepal, Azerbaijan, Sudan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Pitcairn.
