Ignore the Galaxy S10 – EE and Samsung finally announce this radical update

The Galaxy S10 might be one of the best phones you can buy right now but it could soon be eclipsed by what Samsung has coming next.

The Korean technology firm has already revealed its radical Galaxy Fold which features a design that allows it to physically bend in half.

This means users can instantly transform it from a standard smartphone into a giant 7.3-inch tablet.

Samsung calls this screen a Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display and it’s set to be one of the most radical devices to launch this year.

Along with the folding screen, there’s also a fast processor, huge 4,380mAh battery and a total of six cameras which offer numerous photographic treats.

Samsung has also included something called Multi-Active Window that allows users to easily multi-task across three open apps at once.

The Galaxy Fold was first unveiled last month but fans finally know when they can get their hands on one.

Samsung has just announced that the Galaxy Fold will be available in the UK from Samsung Online Shop and Samsung Experience Stores, and via an exclusive operator partnership with EE.

Pre-registration is now open for those looking to register their interest and receive the latest updates on this highly-anticipated device.

Pre-orders for Galaxy Fold will then go live from Friday 26th April ahead of its retail launch on Friday 3rd May.

Speaking about the launch Conor Pierce, Corporate Vice President, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “Samsung is delighted to be partnering with EE to bring the incredible new Galaxy Fold to the UK market.

“With the Galaxy Fold, we didn’t just change the shape of the phone. We pushed the boundaries of innovation to change the shape of tomorrow.

And Marc Allera, CEO of BT’s Consumer division, added: “EE offers the UK’s biggest and fastest 4G network, built to give customers superfast speeds and a reliable mobile connection in more place than any other, and the latest technology in partnership with the world’s most exciting brands. The Samsung Galaxy Fold is a great example of this – offering a revolutionary new design that gives customers an exciting new way to enjoy their favorite content and new experiences with its impressive folding screen”.

The Galaxy Fold will be available from Samsung and will cost a rather hefty £1800.

Samsung says that all devices will come with Galaxy Buds and a slim-design protective Kevlar case.

EE price plans will be announced at a later date.
