Ivanka Trump news: How did Donald Trump’s daughter meet her husband Jared Kushner?

Ivanka Trump, 37, often uses her Instagram platform to update her 4.7 million followers on her work as the advisor to the US President, Donald Trump. Yesterday, however, Ivanka took to Instagram to share a stunning snap of herself and her husband Jared Kushner, now 38. The pair posed for a photo together, with the mother-of-three teasing he was her “hot date”. The couple looked more loved-up than ever – but when did love first blossom for the pair?

The pair’s paths first crossed back in 2007, when they were both 25-years-old.

While they soon struck up a romance, the intention of their initial meet-up was strictly professional.

The American businesswoman and her investor and real-estate developer husband had been attending a business lunch.

The event had been set up by a commercial real estate broker and another friend who thought they could do deals together.

Speaking to US Vogue back in 2015, Ivanka said: “They very innocently set us up thinking that our only interest in one another would be transactional.

“Whenever we see them we’re like, ‘The best deal we ever made!’”

Having first set eyes on one another, Ivanka and Jared went on to date for two years.

Then, in 2009, they married at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, in a lavish, star-studded wedding fit for 500 guests.

These days, the two are parents-of-three.

Their first youngster was a daughter, born in July 2011.

Fast forward two years, and in the October of 2013, they welcomed a son into the world.

On March 2016, Ivanka and Jared had another son.

Since Donald Trump gained power as the President of the United States, Jared took on the role of senior advisor to the President, while Ivanka works as an advisor to the President.

In a sweet snap of the pair posted on Instagram yesterday, Ivanka could be seen wearing a figure-hugging silver dress.

Designed by Markarian, it’s thought the garment sells for £2,750.

It featured spaghetti straps and a scoop neckline.

Ivanka Trump: Five facts about Donald Trump’s daughter

Real name

Ivanka is not, in fact, her real name. She actually shares her mother’s name Ivana.

Explaining why she is known as Ivanka in a 2010 tweet, she said: “In Czech, Ivanka is the baby name for Ivana, like Bobby is to Robert.”

TV appearances

Ivanka was well known to the American public before her father became President thanks to appearances on TV.

She made short cameos on Project Runway and Gossip Girl, as well as becoming a primary boardroom member on The Apprentice with Donald.

Ivanka married Jared Kushner on 25 October 2009 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, after a three month engagement.

Barron Trump served as ring bearer, as Ivanka wore a custom Vera Wang gown accessorised with diamonds from her fine jewellery collection.

Ivanka was raised as a Presbyterian Christian, but converted to Judaism to allow her to marry Jared Kushner.

Ivanka studied with Elie Weinstock from the Modern Orthodox Ramaz School, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City.

She now keeps kosher and observes the Jewish Sabbath. Ivanka said in the February 2015 edition of Vogue: “We’re pretty observant… It’s been such a great life decision for me… I really find that with Judaism, it creates an amazing blueprint for family connectivity.

“From Friday to Saturday we don’t do anything but hang out with one another. We don’t make phone calls.”

Ivanka ran a fashion line for 11 years, only recently closing it down. She also had a fine jewellery store which closed in March 2017.

Ivanka now focuses on her role as an advisor to the President, Donald Trump.
