Kate could be helping George and Charlotte with this subject as William admits struggles

Prince William appeared in a BBC documentary this evening, where he met with famous footballers to discuss mental health in sport. During the hour-long programme, the Duke candidly discussed his own battles with mental health via video-link and even joked about his current experience homeschooling his two eldest children, Prince George, six, and Princess Charlotte, five.

Starting the chat with the elite footballers, William asked how everyone was coping with the current coronavirus lockdown.

He started by explaining that he was finding it difficult to educate his children, and admitted he was struggling with one subject in particular.

The Duke said: “Homeschooling is fun, now isn’t it.

“You start worrying about how little you remember from your school days.

“You can’t even do the maths questions at home.”

The lighthearted comment suggests his wife, Kate, may be leading the teaching of maths.

The Duchess took the subject at A Level, achieving an A grade.

Kate, who boarded at Marlborough College in Wiltshire, also received an A in art and B in English.

During a recent interview with This Morning, Kate revealed George is having a tough time with homeschooling.

She said: “He gets very upset because he just wants to do all of Charlotte’s projects.

“Spider sandwiches are far cooler than literacy work!”

In March, the couple described homeschooling as “a lot of in”.

Speaking to the BBC via video call at the beginning of the lockdown, Kate said she was surprised at how much stamina her children had.

She said: “Children have got such stamina. I don’t know how, honestly.

“You get to the end of the day and you write a list of all the things you’ve done in that day.

“You’ve pitched a tent, take the tent down again, cook, bake, you get to the end of the day and they’ve had a lovely time.

“It’s amazing how much you can cram into one day, that’s for sure.”
