Lucifer season 5 spoilers: Showrunner drops huge Deckerstar spoiler in cryptic tweet

Tom Ellis has recently given Lucifer viewers another reason to celebrate by officially signing on to reprise his role for season six.

However, Netflix has to give the green light first, and the show’s future hinges on the success of the impending fifth season.

Post-production and filming for the finale episode were hit hard by the coronavirus lockdown, leaving fans waiting for the first eight episodes of season five to hit the popular streaming platform.

Not much is known about Lucifer’s next outing, only that the first episode will begin with the demonic playboy back on his throne in Hell after defeating Dromos (played by Graham McTavish).

Plus, Lucifer will finally get a chance to reconcile with his estranged father as it was confirmed former 24 star Dennis Haysbert will be joining the cast as God.

Thankfully, showrunner Ildy Modrovich has been keeping the show’s patient fans updated on social media with her recent Tweets about the anticipated season five release date.

Previously, Ildy had teased: “I hope I don’t get in trouble saying… the premiere date is coming SOON!!! Like… soon soon.”

Unfortunately, some weeks later and Netflix subscribers are no closer to discovering when the first slate of season five episodes will finally become available.

The kissing emoji, of course, suggests another intimate embrace at the very least, and could even imply Lucifer and Chloe finally make things official throughout the course of season five.

Additionally, the punching icon promises even more action to come, though some fans were stumped by the key emoji and debated whether it could hint at a physical or metaphorical key in the next season.

Another fan responded: “On a serious note, first thing in mind is Chloe is the key to Lucifer’s resistance/doubts/acceptance towards his redemption and then, endgame.”

Lucifer has always been beguiled by Chloe’s beauty, but in more recent episodes has started to realise how much she means to him, spurred on by Father Kinley’s foreboding prophecy.

While one more viewer suggested: “It’s either…The key is to fight for love… or Chloe finds a way to unlock hell, fights her way through and finds and kisses Lucifer.”

Season five was previously assumed to be Lucifer’s final bout on Netflix, so showrunner Ildy Modrovich could be keen to give ‘Deckerstar’ fans what they’ve been praying for in the upcoming episodes.

Moreover, the title of the season finale, A Chance at a Happy Ending, already has ‘Lucifans’ excited for the second half of season five’s romantic potential.

Lucifer seasons 1-3 are available on Amazon Prime Video. Lucifer season 4 is available on Netflix.
