Chris Sutton on Harry Kane
Harry Kane would be stupid to turn down any offers from Liverpool or Manchester City, pundit Chris Sutton claims.
The Tottenham star revealed last week he will leave Spurs if they don’t match his ambition.
“I can understand the predicament he is in,” Sutton said on BBC Radio 5 Live.
“But if he wants to win the Premier League, then he should move on and go to a club who have better chance of winning it than Spurs do.
“We all understand he wants to win something. So if he wants to win something, I wouldn’t begrudge him a move.
“Spurs are a brilliant club, but at this moment in time they are way behind the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
“If one of those clubs came in for him, if you were Harry Kane you would be stupid not to go.”
Chelsea eye Samuel Umtiti
Chelsea have reportedly approached Samuel Umtiti’s agent as they step up their pursuit of the Barcelona centre-back ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old played a key role in France’s 2018 World Cup triumph but has since struggled with injuries which have hampered his time at the Nou Camp.
Knee problems have prevented Umtiti from reaching his full potential over the past two seasons in Spain, meaning he has lost his starting berth to compatriot Clement Lenglet.
And Barcelona are now open to selling the centre-back this summer in order to balance their books, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.
The Frenchman is under contract at Barca until 2023 but has featured just 16 times for the Catalan club across all competitions this term.
He also managed just 15 outings last season, which is a considerable decrease compared to his contribution of 40 appearances as Barca completed a domestic double in 2017/18.
Jadon Sancho latest
Manchester United are leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
That’s according to Goal, who claim the 13-time Premier League champions are ahead of Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in the battle to bring Sancho to England.
Both clubs consider Sancho a ‘priority target’ but neither have secured an agreement with the Bundesliga champions for his services.
Dortmund, who have already started planning for life without the 20-year-old, are demanding £115million for their sought-after talent.
Despite trailing, Chelsea are hopeful Sancho’s close friendship with Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi could help them get a deal over the line.
Victor Osimhen challenge
Chelsea are among a host of European heavyweights queuing up to sign Lille striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports.
However, numerous other high-profile rivals including Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham are also said to be monitoring the 21-year-old.
French publication Le Quotidien du Foot claim Osimhen is attracting interest from Real Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Napoli, Roma, Lazio and AC Milan as well as the English quintet.
And Sky Sports have now reported that two Premier League clubs and a La Liga outfit have all tabled bids for the attacker, who is valued between £70m and £90m by Lille.
Matthijs de Ligt possibility
Manchester United believe they stand a chance of signing Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt as part of a swap deal for Paul Pogba, reports say.
Pogba wants to leave Old Trafford and recently fuelled talk of a move back to Serie A by donning Juve’s colours – something that angered many supporters online.
Pogba’s actions were innocuous enough, with the United star insisting he wore them to show support to Blaise Matuidi, who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
But talk of the France international returning to Juventus continues to gather momentum with the summer transfer window creeping closer.
And, now, the Daily Star say United believe they can sign De Ligt in a swap deal involving Pogba.
