Jurgen Klopp holds Timo Werner talks

Jurgen Klopp personally held talks with Timo Werner before professional football was brought to a halt by the coronavirus crisis, according to The Athletic.

The Liverpool manager contacted the RB Leipzig hotshot a fortnight before the team’s Champions League second leg against Atletico Madrid.

Germant international Werner also held talks with Manchester United and Barcelona while his representatives chatted to Chelsea.

But he favours a switch to Anfield because of the coach, team-mates, playing style and environment on offer.

Man Utd confident of completing transfer

Manchester United are confident of completing the signing of Jude Bellingham from Birmingham City, according to 90min.

Old Trafford officials believe the deal is effectively sealed despite competition from Borussia Dortmund for the 16-year-old.

United could also sign Bellingham’s younger brother Jobe or negotiate a first-refusal option for the 15-year-old.
