Martin Lewis: Drivers caught out by ‘quasi-legal’ sites charging more for driving licences

Reading out a message from a disgruntled viewer, This Morning host Holly Willoughby revealed how some drivers were charged an extra £93 by falling for the issue.

She said: “When I got to the payment section it took me to another site where I paid £14 but instead they took £93.

“I contacted the DVLA and they told me it’s nothing to do with them.

“I’m over 70 years old and I feel like I’m being scammed, what can I do.”

Martin Lewis replied: “I called these sites ‘shyster sites’, they are quasi-legal. You see them for passports, e-Hicks as was, ESTA visa applications, driving licences, DVLA.
