Martin Lewis explains how package holiday firms & airlines are responding to Spain crisis

Martin Lewis has continued to issue advice throughout the coronavirus crisis to concerned Britons. The latest debacle saw the government change its stance on Spain travel. The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) now advises against all non-essential travel to Spain.

However, airlines such as Ryanair are continuing to operate flights to and from the holiday destination.

Martin Lewis’ Money Saving Expert team have broken down how the main travel firms are responding.

First Choice

Holidays to mainland Spain are cancelled until August 10.

Balearic and Canary Islands holidays have been grounded until August 1.

First Choice will update customers for later holidays on July 31.

Hays is contacting customers individually as it depends on the holiday booked.

Jet2 Holidays

Holidays to mainland Spain due to depart July 28 – August 16 are cancelled.

Balearic and Canary Islands holidays are suspended until August 10.

Jet2 will update customers regarding later holidays after further Government guidance.

TUI

Holidays to mainland Spain are cancelled until August 10.

The company have also axed all holidays to the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands until August 4.

Further updates for customers with holidays due to depart on or after August 10 will be confirmed on Friday July 31.
