Martin Lewis warning: Money expert claims 2.3million motorists at risk of a £1,000 fine

Motorists whose image expires between February 1 and August 31 will be entitled to an automatic extension for seven months.

However, any drivers whose image may have expired before February 1 will need to get their card updated immediately to avoid facing severe punishments.

Mr Lewis confirmed the image expiration date can be found on the front of the card under section 4b.

This date will be when the card becomes no longer valid and motorists will require an update.

Speaking on the Martin Lewis Money Show, the Money Saving Expert urged motorists to check their date as soon as they can.
