Matt Tebbutt steps in as guests clash on Saturday Kitchen: ‘Let’s not argue!’

Matt, 46, was back on hand to host Saturday Kitchen and he was joined in the BBC studio by former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, Chris Ramsey, 34. The comedian sat alongside his wife Rosie Ramsey, 33, who is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child. However, when the pair were sharing a dish made by Yotam Ottolenghi, they started to have a marital spat, leading the presenter to step-in and break things up.

The chef had cooked up a Middle Eastern delight, which was served to the couple with a glass of Catarratto for Chris and a non-alcoholic beverage for Rosie.

As they began eating and the drinks expert began to explain why she had matched the beverage with the meal, the former Strictly star’s wife wanted to smell the alcohol.

“You can have a smell and that’s all The One Show presenter said, with Matt asking: “Are you missing it, Rosie?”

“Like you’ve never known,” she replied, adding: “Chris has a wine and I just smell his breath afterwards.”

However, the father-of-two then hit back as he told his other half and the viewers watching at home: “That is a lie.”

“We thought it would crash and burn didn’t we,” Chris added, stating he and Rosie were adamant they wouldn’t be talking about it on television.

Speaking of reaching 42 million downloads for the podcast, the former Strictly contestant admitted he had “no idea” what made it so successful.

“We put so much pressure on ourselves when we sit down to do it. We finish every recording of the podcast and go, ‘Was that good?’

“We listen to it back on the Thursday before it goes out and we go, ‘Oh, no, that was alright, actually’.”

Rosie added: “I think it’s honesty. I think we’re just very honest about life and it makes you feel a bit better.”

Taking to social media, viewers were pleased to see the pair onscreen, with one writing on Twitter: “Chris and Rosie #Goals #SaturdayKitchen.”

Another posted: “Loving Chris Ramsey devouring the food on #SaturdayKitchen as if he hasn’t eaten in about 2 weeks. Hilarious. Rosie trying to be a bit more delicate but Chris just shovelling it in.”

A third commented: “Rosie wasn’t kidding, was she? Chris didn’t even chew that meal! #SaturdayKitchen.”

Saturday Kitchen airs at 10am on BBC One
