Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton must follow these rules at Princess Beatrice’s wedding

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi told the world of their engagement in September 2019. With the big day fast approaching, wedding invites have probably already been sent to royals including Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie. What rules will they need to follow on the big day?

When going to a royal wedding, there are some things those attending will be asked to do.

Guests must follow certain rules for everything from where they sit to what they are allowed to bring.

There are also strict fashion rules they are advised to follow to keep everyone looking smart.

Speaking to, Anthony McGrath, celebrity stylist and lecturer at the Fashion Retail Academy in London, explained what royals might wear on the big day.

Kate Middleton

The expert explained Kate could choose to re-wear an outfit she has been seen in before.

He said: “The Duchess of Cambridge’s past outfits have always been smart, structured and absolutely stunning.

“She’s not afraid to recycle outfits – wearing the same bright blue Catherine Walker coat for her friend Sophie Carter’s wedding that she previously wore during a royal tour of Germany.”

Anthony predicts Kate could opt for a coat dress with a clutch bag based on her previous wedding looks.

“From past appearances, it is likely Kate will go for a fitted coat dress, matching floral fascinator and clutch bag,” he added.

“It is hard to guess what colour Kate will go for as she likes to mix it up, wearing cream for Meghan and Harry’s wedding, dusty pink for Pippa’s and vibrant pink for Princess Eugenie’s.”

Meghan Markle

The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry will no longer be official working royals from March 31 this year.

However, Meghan is sure to be invited to Princess Beatrice’s big day and could opt for a muted look if she does attend.

Anthony said: “In past appearances, Meghan has worn outfits that are colourful, bold and effortless at the same time.

“For this wedding Meghan will potentially dial down on colour to something more demure, such as navy blue or pale pink, to keep out of the spotlight.”

Queen Elizabeth II

The Queen has attended many royal weddings over the years and will usually stand out in a bright look.

This is something she could do again on Princess Beatrice’s big day, the expert explained.

He said: “The Queen is known for her chic and vibrant wedding outfits.

“The monarch wore a lime coloured patterned dress for Harry and Meghan’s wedding and lemon yellow for William and Kate’s.

“We can expect an elegant outfit from the Queen – a bright coloured coat dress is most likely, making her stand out from the crowd.”
