Royal author Leslie Carroll told Express.co.uk that the reason for the pair’s departure to LA comes after the UK became “untenable” for the Duke and Duchess to live. She revealed that the media attention the couple received may have become too much for them prompting them to move across the pond sooner than expected.
Ms Carroll said: “For the Sussexes to remain in England and raise their son amid such toxicity was untenable in the long run.”
The couple’s escape to the United States was most likely an easy decision, as Meghan holds a visa in the country and would be able to work and be near family.
Ms Carroll said: “Meghan is an American she can always work here in the US without needing papers to do so; and her mother, Doria Ragland, lives in Los Angeles, so Archie will get to know his maternal grandmother, which is also a lovely plus.”
Meghan Markle has reportedly not seen her mother yet since moving to Los Angeles.

However, seeing her beloved mother Doria may have been tricky recently due to self-isolation measures in the US due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Although the two now only live ten miles apart now in Los Angeles, due to the coronavirus pandemic the pair have been unable to meet, leading Meghan to feel “blue” while she self isolates, according to a report on Yahoo.
Doria, falls into the category of people who may fall susceptible to the virus, meaning that Meghan must ensure to adhere to the government guidelines and keep distant.
A source told the Sun: “Meghan is absolutely heartbroken—after all, one of the main reasons she decided to live in LA was to be near her mum.

“Because of her age, Doria obviously has to be careful and Meghan and Harry are sticking rigidly to all formal guidelines when it comes to coronavirus.
“They’ve been WhatsApping and FaceTiming almost daily but obviously it’s not the same.”
Since their move, there have been public concerns about how the pair will pay for security protection guards.
Ms Carroll said that the pair have “not” requested funding for their new security team from municipal, state or federal sources.

Their security bill may even cost the couple up to £4 million as they will need round the clock surveillance
She stated: “It’s my understanding that Harry has money from Diana’s trust and also continues to receive money from the Duchy of Cornwall funds.”
Meghan and Harry have already released a statement to confirm that they will be picking up the costs for their own protection bill.
Security will be important for the pair as they launch their new “Archewell” organisation stateside, which will undoubtedly draw attention to the couple.
They are reportedly selecting guards from a shortlist of security firms whose staff have protected stars including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Madonna.

Their security bill may even cost the couple up to £4 million as they will need round the clock surveillance to hang out at celebrity hot spots including Soho House.
An insider told the Sun: “Soho House was definitely her [Meghan’s] go-to spot when she lived in Los Angeles, particularly because then it had even more exclusivity.
“She liked to go there a few times a week in the late morning when it was quiet, grab some tea, read scripts, have meetings about whatever projects she was working on. It was like her office.
“Meghan is also a big fan of Erewhon, a super high-end natural foods grocer in West Hollywood, which was her health food holy grail.

“She loves hiking and keeping fit, so she hopes to be able to do a few of her favourite trails, albeit with security in tow now.
“She will have a private gym at the new pad, so it’s unlikely she will use one of her old spin studios like Soul Cycle.”
