Speaking to Sky News, Ms Junor claimed Meghan Markle is used to a “very competitive world” and is now struggling to adjust to the Royal Family. The royal expert argued the Duchess of Sussex was not fully aware of how the British Royals operated before marrying Prince Harry earlier this year.
Ms Junor said: “Clearly there is something going on here. I don’t think the media are making it up.
“I think that life must be very difficult for Meghan.
“She’s had a completely different life.
“She didn’t really know the British family or how it operated or what her life would be like.
“And she is clearly used to be her own woman, operating at her own hours and behaving the way she’s used to to get on in a very, very competitive world.
“And she’s now not in that competitive world, she’s in an extraordinarily arcane and unusual world now.
“And I think she perhaps hasn’t yet settled into it.
“But she’s not really being given much chance now.”
It comes as the Duchess’ father, Thomas Markle, appeared on ITV Good Morning Britain to reveal he attempts to get in touch with his daughter but is yet to receive an answer from her.
During his with Piers and Susanna Reid, Mr Markle insisted he was “hopeful” he would see his daughter and the soon-to-be-born grandchild.
He said: “I’m still hopeful, I really think there is always a possibility.
“She’s been through quite a lot and it’s not an easy task. I think she’ll reach out in time and I hope she does.”
