Mo Salah 'getting into a habit' of going over – pundits hit out and Liverpool fans angry

Salah was felled in the area by Brighton defender Pascal Gross and he duly lashed in the spot-kick for his 17th goal of the season.

But there are suggestions the Egyptian went down easily – and Keys and Gray were quick to jump on Salah’s back.

Keys, appearing on beIN SPORTS, said: “It was an emphatic penalty by Salah after another ‘foul’ from Salah.”

Sensing Keys didn’t think it was, his long-term right-hand man Gray asked: “Not happy? Do you think he made the most of it?”

Keys appeared to confirm he did and said: “I think he’s getting into a habit of making the most out of challenges.”

Grays agreed and said: “I think in any big game coming up now, certain coaches may remind officials that he is going to ground easily – but there was a tug on his shirt.”

“There was, in fairness, but enough to take him down in the manner he collapsed? I don’t know,” Keys questioned.

The exchange between the pair irked Liverpool fans as they vented their fury at beIN SPORTS on Twitter.

“Are you serious? Clear pen and not for the shirt pull watch it again its blindingly obvious why it is a penalty,” wrote one while another said: “Clearest pen you’ll see. Also clearest agenda v LFC you’ll see.”

One upset fan said: “Mo Salah would get kicked into the stand and these cretins would say he went down too easily. It’s a stonewall pen. He’s hacked as he goes to shoot. It’s 100% a penalty.”

“Blocking @beINSPORTS so i dont have to see or listen to richard and andrew,” wrote another.

While another user tweeted: “Miserable pair. Tug on the shirt. Ref saw it. Simple… P.S. 7 points clear.”

Klopp hailed his side for no longer being “childish” in controlling matches after they extended their lead to seven points at the top of the Premier League.

“I think it was the most mature performance we have made so far,” Klopp said.

“There were a few situations where we could have been a bit more inspired, creative and cool.

“We know we can control the game and we are not that childish anymore.”
