Money Heist season 5: Berlin star wraps filming as he pens tribute to Álvaro Morte

Netflix’s international hit has finally started to wrap up production on its fifth and final instalment. As fans continue to wait for the return of Money Heist, series mainstay Pedro Alonso has confirmed he’s finished his time as Berlin by penning an emotional Instagram post to his friend and co-star, Álvaro Morte.

Spanish actor Pedro Alonso has recently said farewell to fellow Money Heist star Álvaro Morte with a touching tribute on Instagram.

His latest post arrives as the Netflix phenomenon begins to wrap up production on its fifth and final season.

Money Heist Part Four was released to subscribers in May last year, with the show’s conclusion hoping to hit screens before the end of 2021.

Alonso has now confirmed he has finished his last scenes as Berlin, the jewel thief and older brother of the Professor (played by Álvaro Morte) who leads the criminal mastermind’s first heist.

After being killed at the end of the second season, Alonso has continued to reprise his role in some pivotal flashback scenes.

The actor took to his social media page this week with a video of himself driving away from the Money Heist set.

He captioned the post: “Sooner or later that moment comes. It always comes. The one when it’s time to go to the end of what we don’t know.”

The Money Heist star then tagged his friend and long-running co-star Álvaro Morte as their five year adventure comes to an end.

Photos taken from the set of the new season have since confirmed Berlin’s presence in Part Five.

Current theories have suggested more about Berlin and the Professor’s mysterious past will be revealed, while others have speculated he could have a connection to the ruthless Alicia Sierra (Najwa Nimri).

Meanwhile, Alonso’s co-star Álvaro Morte was last seen on Instagram last week, posting from one of the locations of La Casa De Papel Part Five.

He also confirmed filming for the final season was making good headway with a post from his makeup chair at the end of March.

Last season drew concerned reactions from fans after the devastating finale concluded with a number of cliffhangers.

Thankfully, Netflix soon assured subscribers that Money Heist would indeed continue, with a fifth season wrapping up the Professor’s ambitious hit on the Bank of Spain.

Now the cast have ramped up their social media updates for the new series, fans have their fingers crossed an official release date for the final instalment will be coming soon.

Money Heist seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix.
