Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath is out now on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PCs and Google Stadia and brings with it a tonne of fresh content. The headline addition that Aftermath brings to Mortal Kombat 11 is a new story which sees Liu Kang and Raiden team up to take down Shang Tsung. Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath also features three new characters RoboCop, Sheeva and Fujin as well as new Stage Fatalities and Friendship moves.
The Friendship moves are the complete anti-thesis of what Mortal Kombat is known for – brutal finishers where your opponent ends up as a bloody mess on the floor.
Friendships were a big part of Mortal Kombat in the 90s, and were a tongue-in-cheek response to the huge outcry over the violence seen in those early Midway fighters.
But it’s been a long time since Friendship moves have appeared in MK, with the last proper time these finishers featured being MK3.
Friendships have been teased since then, but their inclusion in MK11 marks the first time the moves have properly featured in the games such the 90s.
