Motorola is back with another flippin’ brilliant Razr smartphone. Just like the model that was launched last year, the new Razr gets a fully foldable 6.2-inch pOLED screen which bends in half making it easier to pop in your pocket.
And don’t worry about having to constantly open the device to check your WhatsApp chats as an improved 2.7-inch display on the front now lets you answer calls and reply to messages without ever needing to unfold it.
There’s also instant access to all of your favourite apps such as Google Maps, YouTube and Spotify via this smaller screen. The other big upgrade coming to this reboot is access to super fast 5G networks which should make watching movies on the move completely buffer-free.
In fact, this phone will be able to whizz around the web at speeds of over 300Mbps – that’s over four times faster than the average UK broadband.
A much speedier Qualcomm 765G processor is tucked under the hood for improved performance plus you’ll find 256GB of storage for your files and photos.
If you’re concerned about reliability then Motorola reckons this device can withstand up to 200,000 flips. It would take around five years to reach that level of abuse so you shouldn’t need to worry about it breaking.
There’s also a clever coating which stops things getting scratched and it can survive the odd drop of rain or spill of beer.
If it’s photos you want to snap then you’ll find a 48-megapixel main camera which can shoot images in low light and stops shaky pictures via image stabilisation.
Plus, laser autofocus technology in the time of flight sensor helps the camera quickly focus on your subject.
Although there is a 20-megapixel camera included for those Instagram selfies you might not want to use it.
That’s because the 48MP main camera system can also be used to easily snap photos of your face when the device is closed.
In fact, Motorola is boasting that this the most advanced selfie camera on the market. Because it uses that improved lends, selfies get a creative boost with camera modes like Group Selfie, Portrait Mode, Spot Colour, and more. Plus, the dual displays enable camera features that are simply impossible on other devices.
An all-day battery should mean you can leave your charger at home
Like all foldable phones, the new Motorola Razr 5G doesn’t come cheap with this device costing a rather hefty £1,399. Ouch!
If that hasn’t put you off then it will be available to pre-order soon in three colours including Polished Graphite, Liquid Mercury, and Blush Gold.
