Moving house guidance: What are the guidelines – am I allowed to move house?

With viewings, the Government has highlighted people should attempt to view properties online as much as possible initially and should only undertake physical viewings where buyers are serious about purchasing a property.
To support this, agents should ask home occupiers to conduct virtual viewings and should only arrange physical viewings by appointment only.
If your property is being viewed, you should open all the internal doors prior to the viewing, and allow access to handwashing facilities and ideally separate towels or paper towels.
Furthermore, when your home is being viewed you are advised to exit your property to cut down on potential contact opportunities.
All parties should wash their hands and avoid touching surfaces when viewing a property and should maintain social distancing rules throughout the viewing.
Once the viewing has taken place, the homeowner should ensure surfaces, such as door handles, are cleaned with standard household cleaning products and towels disposed of safely or washed as appropriate.
