Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fires warning to Man Utd stars after Sheff Utd victory

Manchester United boss Ole Guannar Solskjaer says his side need to sort out their home form if they are to be considered title challengers. United came from behind to beat Sheffield United 3-2 at Bramall Lane to win their sixth away match this season.

Dean Henderson’s error after five minutes allowed David McGoldrick to give the Blades the lead before Marcus Rashford blasted home an equaliser.

Anthony Martial made it 2-1 before the break and Rashford finished a fine move in the second half to add a third.

McGoldrick’s late consolation made for a nervy finish but United held on to climb up to 6th place in the Premier League table.

Solskjaer’s side are now just five points behind leaders Liverpool with a game in hand.

When asked after the game if his side are in the title race, Solsksjaer said they need their home form to match their form on the road.

“We need to sort the home form,” he said.

“It is not like it is home and away with these conditions without fans.

“We should be more used to the Old Trafford pitches than these pitches.

“Sunday [against Leeds] is a massive game, we have been waiting for years and we will be ready for it.”

United have won just once at home in the league all season, beating West Brom last month.

The team have also scored just three goals at Old Trafford so far this season, with two of those coming from the penalty spot.

Things couldn’t be more different on the road where the three goals scored against Sheffield United made it 19 in just six away matches.

“They are handful in a very unorthodox way.

“Obviously with the pace and the skill in these boys, I thought all three goals were excellent.

“I wanted to test them here today because we knew it would be a fight.

“We knew they were going to get kicked.”
