EA has confirmed that Origin servers are down tonight, with problems flagged connected to digital library services.
Reports started popping up at around 9pm GMT and appear to be affecting the Origin platform in the United States and UK.
It’s unclear what has caused tonight’s problems, which appear to be stopping gamers accessing their library of Origin games.
The good news is that these should still be available to play via your desktop shortcuts, as confirmed by EA tonight.
A message from the EA support team adds: “We’re currently looking into reports from players unable to load their Origin game library.
“While we investigate, you’ll be able to launch your games directly from your desktop shortcuts or the launcher found in the install path.”
Server outages have become more common following the widespread quarantine rules being enforced around the globe.
One affected user writes: “EA Help tweeted and said they are working on it. but they have no time frame so that’s neat.”
Another adds: “It might even take more, servers are huge things and are fairly complex to troubleshoot especially with the ones EA has.”
While the Origin platform remains offline, it appears gamers are finding ways to access titles like Apex Legends, Star Wars Battlefront 2 and FIFA 20 tonight.
